Ana reached out and offered us an ARC of Twisted Love in exchange for an honest review. I’m so glad she reached out! This book was so good! Ava's brother is Alex's best friend. Alex and Ava were intensely magnetic. Alex is this genius alphahole who gives zero effs. Ava is his polar opposite.  They both have tragedies in their pasts. Circumstances bring them together and their chemistry explodes. But secrets from their tragic pasts begin to haunt them.

This book was full of heat, and an intriguing edge of mystery. The book also including a HUGE journey for our fmc. I’m so proud of Ava’s growth throughout the book. She may not be your typical takes-no-BS fmc, but she’s so strong and resilient in her own quietly fierce way. I truly enjoyed this world and the characters in it. I’ve already added book 2 to my TBR!

Meet Liza James:

I remember writing my first book when I was just a kid. It was a short children's story that my mom loved so much, she took the time to get our friend to illustrate all of the pages. 

I had decided back then, that when I grew up I was going to be an author. Funny how we grow up and things change so drastically, right? As I got older, I began the age old search of trying to figure out exactly what I wanted in life. 

I got married at 18, moved across the world with my husband and spent the next several years trying so many different things in order to find my fit. I fell in love with so many things as well, including photography, calligraphy, music, and letterpress. 

But writing and reading have always remained a constant love of mine. Oddly enough, it was the only thing I never spoke about. I kept it very private, starting several different stories and ultimately not finishing them. I never spoke about what I was writing with anyone, or very very few people once in a while. I didn’t even share what I wrote with my family or my husband. 

This year, a lot of things changed. I found myself coming to a place in my life as a mom, a wife, a friend, but still not as MYSELF. I continued struggling with my own identity, struggling with who I was outside of being a wife and mother. So, I made it a goal to write and finish my first novel in 2019. I decided to CHOOSE my path and create it for myself, choose my identity and allow my passion for writing to come at the forefront of that. 

I am a mother. I am a wife. I am a friend and a lover of many many things. But I am also a writer, I’m an author, and loving every moment of embracing myself in all of those things. 

So, here I am today, writing this blurb about my “story” and laughing to myself just a bit. Because this is just the beginning of what my story was and is going to be, and I’m ready to embrace whatever this new adventure has for me.

Review 

The Glass Slipper picks up right where Prince Charming left off and we see how Winston handles the knowledge of Ash’s interactions with Leo. Everything that was building in the last two books comes to a nice and tidy end, with a few plot twists. Although, there is some key information that’s teased this book that isn’t revealed in this series. 

Over the last two books we’ve seen Winston’s tough Constantine armor slowly begin to falter. Little by little Ash has been chipping away leaving little cracks that Win didn’t notice until it was too late. I loved reading his internal dialogue at his gut reactions and thoughts relating to Ash and his feelings (more like his denial of his feelings) for her. It was a struggle for him to admit to himself that what he was feeling was indeed love.

As with the other books in this trilogy it’s incredibly steamy, however it wasn’t as “taboo” as the others. I enjoyed seeing the evolution of their relationship, both physically and emotionally. 

The Glass Slipper was well written, which I expect nothing less from K Webster, and definitely a must read for all fans of this genre.

Review

Diver’s Heart was such an incredibly unique reverse harem book. As with all other books I’ve read by Katie, it was extremely well written and pulled me right in from the start. It was also very unexpected, which I love. I’m a big advocate for going in blind when necessary and it is completely necessary in this case. Just know that there’s tons of adventure, action, suspense and steam. 

Katie made me feel like I was right there with Peyton, Fin, Riggs, Tyler and Kalen for the whole descent and dive into the unexplored cave. It was obvious that extensive research went into writing this book. All the details added to the thrill of feeling like you’re right there with the characters as they’re risking their lives while exploring the cave system. 

While this is a second chance reverse harem, it almost felt like a continuation of their previous relationships. There was a lot of hurt to overcome, but the love they all shared was evident from the beginning. The growth and reconstruction of their relationship under such a stressful environment was captivating. I found it very difficult to put the book down once I started reading. 

I absolutely loved this book and hope to see more of these characters in the future.

REVIEW

His True North is a 3.5/5 for me. Better than good. This book was full of high intensity and high emotional context. I really enjoyed the story, and A.M. brings the S T E A M. I love that this husband/wife duo, Ash and Marcus, use their experiences as an interracial/multicultural couple to create a beautiful story. They built a world of characters that are relatable and lovable. I couldn’t help but to cheer them. 

Charli and Finn have been married for 13 years when Finn is in a severe accident that causes amnesia. He doesn’t remember a huge chunk of his life. Unfortunately, that includes his wife Charli. She’s also pregnant with their first child. The characters both struggle so much at the beginning of the story and it truly sucked me in. Their emotions punched me right in the feels. 

Charli and Finn’s journey was quite unexpected. I assumed I knew where things were headed and I’m glad to say I didn’t. What a surprise! This book is worth the read.
