When the Storm Breaks tells the love story of a cowboy and a rockstar whose paths have crossed before. It seems their love has been written in the stars. Destined. My heart is so full of love for these two. I honestly fell a little in love with Brody in When the Stars Fall. That book is one of my all time favorites books. There is such a huge twist in Brody's cousin Jude's book. THAT PLOT TWIST. Jude’s cousin Brody is the dad of Lila's child. I still can’t get over it.

Brody is one of a kind. He’s this gruff, rough cowboy who through his inner monologues you get to know so deeply. His heart shines through every scene. He doubts his worth, but at the same time works so hard to be a good man and father. And brother. Another plot twist!

Shiloh comes to town to take a 6 week break from touring and to come to terms with something she did in the past. Shiloh and Brody meet and agree to a fling that will last only while she’s in town. But how will they cope after she leaves? There was an air of mystery and almost magic to this book. And Emery Rose kept me guessing the whole time. How does a cowboy who loves his privacy and a world-famous rockstar find their happily ever after?

We get to see more of the Macalister family in When the Storm Breaks. Brody's aunt and uncle: Kate and Patrick. His cousins Gideon and Jesse. And my favorite side characters: Jude and Lila. Seeing more of them after their HEA was such a special treat. I so enjoyed being able to see Brody and Jude interact and Brody and Lila. They're not just family but friends and co-parents also. The nuances of the relationships were just fascinating.

This book brought me both joy and sorrow at times. Some secrets explode and leave our characters reeling in the aftermath. Some books make you feel emotions deeper than others. It’s a truly special thing to experience and I’m always grateful for each book that causes me to feel emotions so deeply. This is another one of those books. I can't wait to add it to my paperback collection.
