Devils' Day Party by C.M. Stunich - "I should hate you. And I want to. I want to hate you so bad."

Devils' Day Pary by CM Stunich
Book Blurb:
I crashed my shitty yellow VW Beetle into Calix’s Aston Martin.
To be fair, he deserved it.
But Calix and his friends, Barron and Raz, they don’t see it that way.

Not that it matters.
They’ve bullied me for years, and I’ve never known why.
At least today, they have something real to be pissed about.
All of which would be fine, if today was a normal day.
But it’s not. It’s far from normal.
My mantra has always been: this too, shall pass.

But not today.
Not the worst day of my life.
Hot bullies, busted cars, and pain.

Somebody kill me now.

I discovered C.M. Stunich thanks to the Discover feature in the Kindle app. Prior to reading her books, I had no idea what a reverse harem book was. So, for those of you that were like me, a reverse harem book is one where the heroine has multiple love interests and usually ends up with more than one person at the end. These stories may or may not have MM scenes and may or may not feature group sex scenes. Most authors include a disclaimer just in case any of that isn’t your cup of tea. If they don’t, a quick scan through the reviews will typically let you know if there were any surprises. With that being said, Devils’ Day Party is the 10th book of hers that I’ve read and I have yet to be disappointed (if you don’t count my anger at the cliffhanger ending to Havoc at Prescott High. Part 2 is here & 3 is coming soon thankfully).

Devils’ Day Party follows Karma while she is forced to relive a single day on repeat. Karma's life at Crescent Prep has been anything but idyllic. In the typical fashion of this genre, we have an underprivileged heroine bullied by her classmates. The worst offenders are Calix, Raz and Barron; they make up the elite of the school.

We follow Karma as she lives through Devils' Day - an annual celebration in their town of Devil Springs. Devils' Day strikes me as a mix between Halloween and Valentine's Day. Everyone wears masks, give gifts and then goes out and parties after school. This year's celebration starts off a little differently than the rest - Karma comes to after crashing her car into Calix's Aston Martin with no recollection as to why she did it. The day continues to progress from bad to worse. Needless to say, her first time living through the day was a disaster of EPIC proportions. She immediately wakes up to blood on her steering wheel after she crashes her car, AGAIN.

Without giving anything away, Karma lives through each version of the day learning from what happened previously and begins to see patterns. She uses everything that she learns and tries to alter her actions the next day to see how her small changes affect how the day ends. Needless to say, she has some seriously fucked up days while she figures shit out. There were some seriously emotional scenes that had me gasping and hoping that she would have another go fixing things. Thankfully, the roller coaster is worth it and we get our HEA!

Fairly early on, I came up with a theory of what I thought was happening - I was absolutely WRONG! If you enjoy this genre of books and don’t mind a little MM, this book is an absolute must read; you will not be disappointed. This book put me through the emotional ringer! I really enjoyed how this book made me think about my choices and how they can change everything.
