Book Blurb:
Our story didn’t exist, it was broken before it began.
Kisses were covered with lies.
Lies were covered with kisses.
Hate turned into lust.
And lust turned into fantasy.
That’s what we were, a fantasy.
Nothing more, nothing less.
Now it’s time to move on. But how can you when your heart wants to say stuck in the fantasy?
When even through all the lies and kisses, you still have lust.

Heartbreak You is Book 2 of the Heartbreak Duet therefore you must first read Heartbreak Me before diving into this one. In order to do this story justice, I'll begin with a spoiler free recap of Heartbreak Me. Book 1 of the duet began with Theodora being kidnapped. She soon discovered
that her sister, Lucy, swindled 1 million dollars from her kidnapper
and is being held responsible with working the debt off. Unfortunately
for Thea, she is very used to bailing her sister out of every situation
she gets herself into, which is a lot, and takes on the responsibility with little fight. Once her blindfold is removed and she comes face-to-face with
her kidnapper, it’s lust at first sight for both Thea and Atlas.
As Thea begins working off the debt, her and Atlas become more and more attracted to each other. Atlas finds himself intrigued by Thea and how different she is from her sister. Despite their better judgement, they give into the chemistry and it’s explosive.
The relationship between Thea and Lucy is one of the most toxic relationships I’ve seen in a while.
The ending of this HM doesn’t end with a typical cliffhanger where it’s mid scene and you want to pull your hair out or throw your phone, which I was very thankful for. There’s definitely a conflict between Atlas and Thea that will have to be resolved in Book 2, but it felt like a natural break in the scene. I found myself wondering about Atlas’ reaction to the situation and what information I was missing

Book 2 picks up immediately where HM left off. Atlas fled the
scene after heartbreaking Thea, leaving her to fend for herself, because
he irrationally blames Thea for what just happened. If that wasn’t
explosive enough, the bombs kept on falling! Luckily, you find out why Atlas reacted the way he did and the Lucy plot thickens. I’m not going to tell you what you learn because you deserve to be as surprised as I was and no spoilers, of course.
It takes a while for Atlas to realize Thea isn’t to blame, but by the time he does, it’s too late. She’s decided he’s hurt her enough and is going to move on. I was happy to see Thea begin to realize that she isn't as unaffected by her past as she thought she was and that she needed to stand up for herself and start putting herself first.
Thea has a lot of issues to work through before she’s able to accept that what Atlas says he feels for her is true. Especially because those issues are caused mainly by his involvement in her life and the choices he’s made attempting to keep her there. Not to mention all her subconscious issues due to her unhealthy relationship with her sister. What a toxic relationship! I thought I disliked Lucy in Book 1, but wow, she really outdoes herself in the duet finale.

I'm happy to say that everything has a nice resolution in the end and Atlas & Thea get the HEA they deserve. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and am excited to read other books by T.L. Smith.
