This wasn’t the life I was meant to live.
No, I should be working on solidifying my ladder of ascension.
No matter what the cost or what I had to give up.
No matter what they made me do.
Their little wildflower, that’s who I am. Quiet, meek, gullible.
Until I met the one person who changed all of it and became something more.
She’s my filthiest secret.
And one I intend on taking to the grave.
Ruby
Another night at the club I work at—Pandora’s Box.
Another dance, another tease, another round of shots and callously thrown dollar bills.
Until her.
Until the energy shifted and one moment became the only thing that mattered.
Because she changed everything, claiming my attention and making it hers.
My dangerous little mistake, my favorite enticing regret.
My Vibe Girl.
Trigger Warning: This book confronts several issues that could be potential triggers. It also contains sexual scenes written in explicit details. It is incredibly dark, please be aware when stepping into this world.
There are books that you read that are just a means to pass the time. And then there are stories that you can tell come from a deeper place and imprint you. Vibe is one of the latter. Reading the story of Ruby & Aura you can tell the words and journey they go through comes from the heart. This is hands down the best FF book I’ve ever read and one of my favorite books of all time regardless of gender. It’s steamy, passionate, dark, twisted and so much more.
Aura was raised in The Nation, but managed to escape and begin trying to reverse the brainwashing she was subjected to while under their rule. Plagued with guilt and nightmares, she’s finally beginning to blossom into her own person and step out of her comfort zone when she meets Ruby, a dancer at Pandora’s Box. It’s instant connection when they meet. Aura struggles with this because she was taught by The Nation that being with women is wrong, not to mention the fact that she has a boyfriend and has never been attracted to a woman before. Their connection, their vibe, is about more than gender. They’re drawn to each other beyond the physical. Their souls connect.
The push and pull between Ruby and Aura and what they are going through individually had me on the edge of my seat. It proved that no matter how hard they fought it, the tethers that tied their souls together would keep pulling them back to each other.
Watching Aura break out of her cocoon and emerge as a strong woman was so gratifying. It was not easy for her, but she fought against the brainwashing and manipulation she had been subjected to because she knew that Ruby was it for her. That she was who she was meant to be with.
Regardless of if you like FF stories or not, you should definitely read this book. Their gender is inconsequential to their love story, not to mention the message of this book. I know for a fact that Ruby & Aura’s story will stay with me long after finishing it.

Meet Liza James:
I remember writing my first book when I was just a kid. It was a short children's story that my mom loved so much, she took the time to get our friend to illustrate all of the pages.
I had decided back then, that when I grew up I was going to be an author. Funny how we grow up and things change so drastically, right? As I got older, I began the age old search of trying to figure out exactly what I wanted in life.
I got married at 18, moved across the world with my husband and spent the next several years trying so many different things in order to find my fit. I fell in love with so many things as well, including photography, calligraphy, music, and letterpress.
But writing and reading have always remained a constant love of mine. Oddly enough, it was the only thing I never spoke about. I kept it very private, starting several different stories and ultimately not finishing them. I never spoke about what I was writing with anyone, or very very few people once in a while. I didn’t even share what I wrote with my family or my husband.
This year, a lot of things changed. I found myself coming to a place in my life as a mom, a wife, a friend, but still not as MYSELF. I continued struggling with my own identity, struggling with who I was outside of being a wife and mother. So, I made it a goal to write and finish my first novel in 2019. I decided to CHOOSE my path and create it for myself, choose my identity and allow my passion for writing to come at the forefront of that.
I am a mother. I am a wife. I am a friend and a lover of many many things. But I am also a writer, I’m an author, and loving every moment of embracing myself in all of those things.
So, here I am today, writing this blurb about my “story” and laughing to myself just a bit. Because this is just the beginning of what my story was and is going to be, and I’m ready to embrace whatever this new adventure has for me.
