No Commitment by Lisa Suzanne - "No more of this no commitment nonsense. I'm all in..."

No Commitment by Lisa Suzanne

Book Blurb

No commitment. That was my deal with Tyler from the start, at least until his tour was over and we could be together. But thirty days filming a reality show here, two years overseas with his band there... Is it really any wonder why I didn’t tell him about the baby?

He comes looking for me once he’s back in the country, but he runs into the man I married instead. Eventually I agree to meet him so I can put the past truly behind me. When I see him, though, every feeling I held inside comes rushing back.

My husband and I vowed to raise this baby together. But as I find myself drifting away from the husband who stole my job and gravitating toward the rock star who stole my heart, I realize he deserves the truth.

I just have no idea how this rock star who doesn’t make commitments is going to react to the fact that he’s a father.

Review

When I read the blurb for No Commitment I was so intrigued. I love rockstar romances and surprise pregnancy tropes. This combo had my name written all over it. This book starts 2 years before the present time while the main characters are casually seeing each other. With no strings attached. No commitment.

We’re given a peak at Danielle and Tyler at that time, while they both reflect on how they’ve gotten to that point of their non-relationship. Also, they both want more but haven’t voiced their desires. Danielle is pregnant. Due to a huge lack of communication, misunderstanding, and some pretty big assumptions Danielle calls it quits with Tyler. Instead of telling him about her pregnancy she begins a journey that doesn’t quite go as she planned or hoped.

Being completely honest, the scene that leads them down the road of the story frustrated me beyond words. I wanted them both to SPEAK UP. Use their words. Communicate. Be honest. But as the story progressed it made sense. Neither Danielle nor Tyler were ready for what could have been at that time.

Two years later they finally reconnect, but Danielle is married. Her life isn’t anything like what she had envisioned when she decided to block Tyler out of her life. However, she still doesn’t open up 100%. When the truth comes out they’re both left struggling with the choices they’ve made and trying to find a way past it.

A few scenes broke me. I felt their emotions. Mostly Tyler’s, but I can relate to Danielle in the sense that our best intentions don’t always play out how we think they will. We make the best decisions based on the information we have, but it doesn’t always end up being the right choice. And once we’ve made those wrong choices we have to own up to that, make amends, and find a way to move on. I loved their story, and I want more from Tyler’s band, Capital Kingsmen.
