Book Blurb
We had one rule. Breaking it sealed our fate forever.
My dream was simple. Graduate this spring, save up enough money to escape the house of horrors I was living in, and see the world in a cool RV with my cat, Gus. No strings.
Then I passed out and face-planted in front of sexy, brooding Jude “Lucky” Lucketti, and he rushed me to the ER. It wasn’t one of my finest moments. But it was one of his. I guess you could say I was a damsel in distress, and Jude was my knight in shining armor. He became my own personal hero, turning up in all the right places at the right times.
But in reality, I was a girl with a serious eating disorder and a lot of bad luck, and he was a hot, older construction worker with lots of muscles and tattoos.
Under his rough exterior, he was a good guy. We became friends, and it didn’t matter that he was sixteen years older than me. We had a lot in common—like our love of rock music and vintage cars, and a mutual anti-marriage stance after coming from broken homes.
So when he proposed, it wasn’t like you think. He figured if he married me and put me on his insurance plan, I could get the medical treatment I needed and couldn’t afford. He even told me I could move into the extra bedroom at his house.
I said yes.
The arrangement would be temporary. A marriage on paper and nothing else. Within a year, we’d divorce.
It should have been easy, but it wasn’t.
Because here I am, eighteen years-old, still in high school, and married to a man I was never supposed to fall in love with.
I did, though.
We had just one rule—no kissing the bride.
Little did we know, breaking that rule on our wedding day would seal our fate forever.

REVIEW
As soon as I started Don't Kiss the Bride I could tell it was going to be another deeply emotional story from Carian Cole. Carian has such a talent for exploring deeper issues. She delves beyond the emotional and into both the mental and physical. I’ve read stories from other authors that examine this a bit, but just barely scratch the surface of these deeper issues. Not all authors manage to evoke emotions in their readers. Carian does.Skylar and Jude’s friendship begins slowly and starts to blossom with each turn of the page. I was enthralled at how easily they got along and related to each other. Even in the midst of turmoil. Lucky discovers some of Skylar's secrets after he discovers her in the midst of a medical emergency. He discovers she has no health insurance and his solution is a marriage of convenience.
Skylar and Jude are both aware of their age difference, but it has no significance in how they’re able to relate to each other. It helps they also have shared interests, and a similar life outlook. Skylar is very mature due to her childhood circumstances.
So much occurs in this book. Tension, drama, passion, steam, illness, injury, pain, anxiety, depression. Such a rollercoaster of emotions. Carian will put you through the wringer in the best possible way. Don't Kiss the Bride was well worth the wait.
Also, I wouldn’t be a diehard Carian fan if I didn't mention how much I loved the Ashes and Embers references. And when Lucky encounters Asher in the alley! I screamed my excitement. It was so fun to see Lucky’s night with Asher from his perspective. I was so excited! That is definitely one of my favorite aspects of Carian's books. If an event happens to a supporting character in one book, and they end up as the hero/heroine in another book, you'll get to see the event from that other perspective. Absolutely brilliant.

Meet Carian
Carian Cole has a passion for the bad boys, those covered in tattoos, sexy smirks, ripped jeans, fast cars, motorcycles, and of course, the sweet girls who try to tame them and win their hearts.
Born and raised a Jersey girl, Carian now resides in beautiful New Hampshire with her husband and their multitude of furry pets. She spends most of her time writing, reading, and vacuuming.
