Just For a Little While by Fiona Cole - “If life is a canvas to be painted, then I want you to paint it with me.”

All I need is a little while and Professor Willem will be mine.

Just for a Little While by Fiona Cole is now live!

After a year of traveling abroad, my parents finally trap my free-spirit into college. Even worse, my dad's former-stepbrother has a room with my name on it.

The only thing I remember about Uncle Willem is his boring button down shirts and quiet demeanor.

Except the rugged man who opens his home to me--filling out his tshirt better than any person should,--is not the man I remember. Standing here drooling over his easy dimpled smile, I wonder if I really looked at him at all.

Because Willem is anything but boring and, based on the way his eyes linger of my ripped jeans and thin shirt, he anything but bored by me.

Add in that he's a professor at my college and my major went from 'undecided' to 'him'. He tried to hold back, but I have other plans in mind.

One kiss. One touch. Each starts with a simple promise: just for a little while.

Review

Just For a Little While was a cute novella that I had the opportunity to read an ARC of. I’ve read several of Fiona’s other books and thoroughly enjoyed them so I was excited to dive into this one. As with her other books, this one has a taboo edge focusing on age gap, with Willem being 14 years older than Arabella and considered her uncle (although technically NOT related) and a professor at the college she attends.

Arabella, having come home from her world travels to go to college as part of an agreement she made with her parents, finds out that she’s going to be living with her Uncle Willem just off campus of her new college. When Willem and Arabella see each other for the first time after a few years, the attraction is instant. The novella follows them as their relationship develops and they deal with the issues their unique relationship causes.

I enjoyed reading about Bella & Will. While it was a short story, it still managed to be packed full of steam and substance.
