Last Round by Charity Ferrell

REVIEW

There are five books in The Twisted Fox series. I have now read the last two. In Last Round, I really enjoyed how Charity started off Silas and Lola's journey by taking us back to their first meeting. Since I'm fairly new to this world of characters I feel like it truly showed the bonds of their friendstrip take root and then slowly blossom through time. I absolutely loved how antagonistic they were towards each other. Their banter gave me life and made me laugh.

As with Chaser, Last Round also showcases a world of strong, sassy females who always have each other's backs, and a loyal brotherhood of men. The characters truly show up for each other in many different ways throughout this book. We see a bit of Grace and Finn's, and the other couples also, journeys from the perspective of Lola and Silas. I love that! It tied together very well. Carian Cole does something similar in her Ashes & Embers series. Fabulous. It was a unique experience because I got to know everyone better through this one book. For a quick read there was a lot going on, but it didn't feel rushed.

Previously, when I read Chaser I had a hard time tracking the timeline of the book. However, I did not have that experience with Last Round. I really enjoyed Last Round, but my favorite part is definitely how it took place over the passing of years. "Everything takes time." Silas and Lola's story pulled my heartstrings. I was very satisfied with the book, but that epilogue was the icing on the cake. No spoilers, but you're in for a treat and a nice glimpse at some upcoming characters.
