Blurb:

He was my foster brother.

He swore to protect me.

He failed.

They all failed.

I’m an open box of passé photographs, snapped in chaste daylight, but filtered in sepia. I’m the past that he tried to forget, and he was the future I needed. When he left six years ago, I screamed for him every night. But then it all stopped. My screams were suddenly muffled by cruelty, and further coaxed by pain.

But he has come back. He’s not the cute big brother I had a furtive crush on, or the bad boy, rich brat that I hated to love.

He’s the ruthless vice president of Wolf Pack MC, and he doesn’t answer to Royce Kane anymore.

He answers to Sicko.

Breathe You by C.R. Jane & Ivy Fox - "Life is given when we breathe you into our lungs, into our hearts, into our very souls. "

Breathe You by C.R. Jane & Ivy Fox

Book Blurb:

Valentina Rossi.
She was our first and only love—our f*cking everything.
She was also the one who tore us apart and crushed our hearts into a pulp. After all these years, we three are still desperately trying to fix the mess she made of us. Even if that meant pretending she was just a childish memory, pushed to the confinements of our mind, just so we could survive without her.
But now she’s back.
Demanding we give her what she stole from us to begin with; our very souls.
But behind her tempting proposal, there is an underlying despair.
We all feel it. We can even taste the bitter melancholy with each kiss we steal from her.
Valentina ripped our hearts out when we were still too dumb and stupid to know any better.
Now I fear if we give in to her again, there will be no coming back from the heartbreak that awaits all of us.
She will end up killing what’s left of us, with every last breath she takes.
And I’m not sure any of us can stop it.

When I tell you this duet as a whole is a must read... I'm not exaggerating. I was completely captivated and spellbound by this gorgeous, painful love story. C.R. Jane and Ivy Fox weaved complete magic. You know when you get to the part of the story when the title makes sense and you get so excited? I know it's not just me! Well, in Breathe You, both titles make sense. LOVE!! I legit cried. Many, many times throughout this book, honestly. I was a bit scared to read this story. I knew it wouldn't be an easy one. But please trust C.R. and Ivy with your hearts. I did. I don't regret it. Your hearts just may need this story as much as I did. Flat out ugly cried. Chest shaking, sobbing. I am in love with Valentina, Quaid, Logan and Carter's love story.

Sexiled by Mickey Miller - "Follow your heart, trust yourself, do what you think is right"

Sexiled by Mickey Miller
Book Blurb:
Morgan Kennedy:
Campus Legend.
Ruggedly handsome superstar athlete turned hedge fund manager.
My one night stand mistake.
And now my boss at my internship.

Every staff meeting, I’m taken back to the night I was filled with a need I never knew was possible.
Sparks fly between us in the office.
The question remains, are they sparks of attraction?
Or of hate for the man who gave me the hottest night of my life…
And never called?
Either way, I’m isolated at this job with Morgan for 10 weeks.
Time to have some fun. Even if that means breaking the rule I made about no relationships while at this internship.
Let’s just say, if Loretta in H.R. knew what Morgan and I were getting up to….we might have to sign some paperwork.
Even if I still do hate him a little, the more I get to know the man behind the legend, the harder I fall for him.
Not just with my body—which caved to him from his first touch—but with my heart.
Stars like Morgan don’t fall in love with nerdy girls like me, though…right?
Turns out there’s much more to Morgan than meets the eye. And I’m the girl to bring it all out of him.
Sexiled is a full length (80,000+ words) enemies-to-lovers, standalone romance with an HEA.

I had the opportunity to read an ARC copy of Sexiled and I was not disappointed. This book is the 3rd installment in the Forever You series and follows April and Morgan’s love story.

No Tomorrow by Carian Cole - "I love you like there's no tomorrow. Don't ever forget that."

No Tomorrow by Carian Cole

Book Blurb:

The people we love are thieves.
They steal our hearts. They steal our breath.
They steal our sanity.
And we let them.
Over and over and over again.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

They say you never forget your first love.
Mine was a homeless musician who wandered straight into my soul.

He was my first everything. And fourteen years later, I still can't get him out of my head.

He broke all my rules.
He also broke my heart.

I watched him climb to stardom, cheering him on from afar.
But I was never a fan; just a girl in love.

Like a tornado, he spiraled, leaving a path of destruction in his wake.
But love conquers all, right? It has to. Because here I stand, ravaged and ruined, needing it to be true.

We can't go back, but I want to. Back to the park. Back to when he sang only for me. Before he was famous. Before he shattered my heart.

I thought I knew everything about him.
But I could not have been more wrong.

He promised me every tomorrow. And here I am, waiting.
And hoping.
Again.

Carian Cole does not disappoint. This book took me to another level with the depth of the characters. I don’t want to give any spoilers, but it explores addiction and mental health. The characters struggled in such a raw, REAL way. As someone who has witnessed addiction I can relate to this story. It hurt my heart so much, but it was also beautiful. Love is so powerful. I'm so thankful to have ready this story.

Devils' Day Party by C.M. Stunich - "I should hate you. And I want to. I want to hate you so bad."

Devils' Day Pary by CM Stunich
Book Blurb:
I crashed my shitty yellow VW Beetle into Calix’s Aston Martin.
To be fair, he deserved it.
But Calix and his friends, Barron and Raz, they don’t see it that way.

Not that it matters.
They’ve bullied me for years, and I’ve never known why.
At least today, they have something real to be pissed about.
All of which would be fine, if today was a normal day.
But it’s not. It’s far from normal.
My mantra has always been: this too, shall pass.

But not today.
Not the worst day of my life.
Hot bullies, busted cars, and pain.

Somebody kill me now.

I discovered C.M. Stunich thanks to the Discover feature in the Kindle app. Prior to reading her books, I had no idea what a reverse harem book was. So, for those of you that were like me, a reverse harem book is one where the heroine has multiple love interests and usually ends up with more than one person at the end. These stories may or may not have MM scenes and may or may not feature group sex scenes. Most authors include a disclaimer just in case any of that isn’t your cup of tea. If they don’t, a quick scan through the reviews will typically let you know if there were any surprises. With that being said, Devils’ Day Party is the 10th book of hers that I’ve read and I have yet to be disappointed (if you don’t count my anger at the cliffhanger ending to Havoc at Prescott High. Part 2 is here & 3 is coming soon thankfully).

I Don't Want You by V McFarlane - "Hate is a strong word but then again so is love. I'd read somewhere before, that you can't truly hate someone, like really hate them if you don't love them first.""

I Don't Want You by V McFarlane

Book Blurb:

That man is dangerous, too charming, too smooth, and if I'm not careful, he's going to wipe the floor with me.

Jared

What happens when everything you know about love turns out to be a lie?
I loved her and she left.
When I finally see her again, I can’t help but want to hate her only no matter what I do to push her away she always comes back.
I don’t want to want her, but I do.

Violet

He made me believe in love and then I broke his heart.
Three years later he comes back a changed man. There’s ice in his heart and fire in his eyes.
He’s cruel, heartless, and hateful but beneath it all I still see the man I fell in love with.
I’ve always wanted him, I still do.

I Don't Want You is a second chance, enemies to lovers standalone romance, the first installment of the 'A Lakeside Romance' series. All books in this series can be read alone.
HEA guaranteed!

I discovered I Don't Want You after being invited to participate in a blogger/bookstagram tour. This review is freely offered of my own free will, and is an unbiased review of the book. I love discovering new or new-to-me authors, and I was quite excited by the blurb for this book. Also, full disclosure, I saw the cover and knew I needed to read it. Hero wearing a leather jacket AND playing the guitar? He's a musician? NEED! Gimme gimme gimme!

Rockstar by Lauren Rowe - "I don't get butterflies when you laugh. I get fireflies. I feel lit up from inside."

Rockstar by Lauren Rowe

Book Blurb:

It was lyrics at first sight when I saw Violet Rhodes across that crowded party. She was lights and darks, swirled together. Music in motion. And all of it while looking like a hitwoman at an Elvis convention.

I had nothing to offer the intriguing girl but a one-night stand. I figured I’d revel in my last night of anonymity before my first tour and shoot her a quick “We’ll always have L.A.!” goodbye the next morning.

But nothing went according to plan.

In one night, Violet crawled under my skin and into my bloodstream. She tattooed her name across my chest and between my legs. She became my muse. And then she was gone.

Now, months later, here she is again. And in a twist I never saw coming, it turns out Violet is ultra-violet radiation. Beautiful, ethereal light bringing with her the promise of damage and destruction.

My brain tells me to walk away from this girl, but my heart can’t stop feeling like she might be one of a kind . . . the sort of girl who comes along once in a violet moon.

Confession! My name is Jessica and I'm addicted to Rockstar novels! Carissa stumbled across this little gem and told me right away. We're constantly sending links and screenshots of great book finds to each other. As soon as I learned Lauren Rowe released a book with songs and music videos to accompany it, I knew I needed to read it.

This book is actually part of The Morgan Brothers Series, but again, I did not have the patience to start at the beginning. This is book 5 in the series and I was way too impatient. I had to read this right away. My excitement could not be contained.

Dax Morgan is 22 years old and days away from embarking on his first tour with his band 22 Goats. 22 Goats will be the opening band performing for the well known Red Cart Riot. He has no clue what being a rockstar feels like when he meets 21-year-old Violet Rhodes at a party. Dax sees her from across the room and he's instantly inspired. Lyrics flood his mind and she becomes his muse before he even speaks to her. Not longer thereafter, Dax notices he's caught her eye too. Their chemistry is instant and explosive. Conversation turns to more.

Dax and Violet decide to have a one-night stand which quickly expands to plans for the weekend. They fall hard for each other stupid-fast, but are both second-guessing how crazy, right everything feels. How can they feel like they're in love in one night? Things don't normally work that way. They decide to just run with it.

When Violet finds out Dax is leaving on an 8 month tour with RCR she decides she can't spend the weekend with Dax, and the best thing for them to do is separate now. If he still wants her after an 8 month tour then they can see where they go as a couple. This leaves both Violet and Dax devastated. They want nothing more than each other, but Dax has to go on tour. His dream is to share his music. Violet wants Dax to have the rockstar experience without being tied to her. She doesn't want Dax to have any regrets or end up being unfaithful. Violet tells Dax she's been there done that and won't do it again. She encourages him to enjoy the experience without guilt.

Although it hurts and Violet never leaves his mind, Dax lives the rockstar life for the 8 months of the tour. He builds friendships with the guys who make up Red Cart Riot, but particularly Caleb, better known as C-Bomb. He also parties pretty hard occasionally. When he comes back stateside he still can't get Violet out of his mind. He plans to track her down and try to pick up where they left off.

When Dax and Violet meet back up there's a big complication. They're more connected than they realize. Violet's brother is friends with Dax's family. Also, Violet is C-Bomb's ex. Not good. He's the ex who cheated on her. C-Bomb is a loose cannon, and everyone knows he's jealous and possessive. Dax and Violet decide to continue their relationship, but keep it on the downlow. We all know this never ends well.

C-Bomb makes it blatantly obvious he want Violet back. Dax continues to be inspired by his muse and writes some of the best music 22 Goats has ever written. Violet and Dax grow closer. Dax isn't your typical rockstar looking to get laid by anything with a vagina. He's so much more than that. He seeks connection and intimacy. He's a sensitive artist who is obsessed with his family. Dax is just a sweetheart. Inevitably, though, Violet gets tired of being Dax's secret. She has some unresolved issues based on the circumstances leading to her birth. She can't take anymore. Finally, the truth comes out and they must deal with the fallout. How will C-Bomb and the rest of RCR react to the news Violet is with Dax, not C-Bomb? Will this cause any issues with the bands working together? Will they loose their record deal?

This story does have a happy ending. Violet and Dax get to be together. Everything didn't work out exactly as Dax planned, but it did work out. Our hero and heroine live happily every after. Lauren Rowe painted such a beautiful picture of the Morgan family. They're a big, boisterous family. They love hard. Everyone gets a nickname. This book had humor, happiness, tears, and the steam factor. I'd rate this as a must read, because the experience was so awesome. The characters' emotions and dialogue was so believable. Rockstar ended up being a feel-good story. Truly enjoyable although there wasn't as much angst as I expected for a book of this title or trope.

So.. I LOVE rock music and the whole rockstar romance novel trope. Combining the two?! Just wow! I've dreamed of listening to the music of the bands in the rockstar books I've read. It was a dream come true to listen to the songs 22 Goats created. To see Dax come to life in the video was mind-blowing. This book was such a unique experience!

Teacher by Fiona Cole - "I want you to teach me."

Teacher by Fiona Cole
Book Blurb:
I promised her that I'd live my best life once I was free.

It was that promise that led me to Voyeur — to Daniel.

What better place to conquer my fear of intimacy than a club that allows you to watch?

Who better to help me than the owner himself?

On night one, my past comes roaring back, urging me to run like I always had before.

This time I ran into his arms.

With my fear still clinging to my skin, he brushed it away and made his own promise.

"I'll teach you."

His promise turns to friendship. A friendship turns to passion.

We didn’t know what to do with that passion — between the not-so-broken girl and the man who promised to never love again.

Daniel and I started because of a promise, and I hoped that we wouldn’t end because of one too.

Teacher is Daniel and Hanna's steamy, tension-filled, friends-to-lovers standalone romance. The last book in the bestselling Voyeur series. Are you ready to watch?

I had the fortune to win an ARC copy of Teacher from a giveaway in Mickey’s Misfits Facebook group. Yay! I was very excited to finally get my hands on Daniel & Hanna’s story because I’ve read all the other books in this series and couldn’t wait to see how it ended. For those of you that have read the other books, you’ll be happy to hear that all the characters we grew to love, made an appearance. This is one of the reasons why I love a good interconnected series - you don’t have to say goodbye to the characters after “The End.” This is book 6 in the Voyeur series. While it is not necessary to read the other books in the series to enjoy this one, it helps you to get a better picture of their world.

Torn by Carian Cole - "I love you the most... I love you forever and longer."

Torn by Carian Cole

Book Blurb:
When I was five years old, I told Toren Grace I was going to marry him when I grew up. When I turned eighteen, I made it clear I still felt the same. The problem? He's fifteen years older than me, and he's my father's best friend.

Toren Grace. My father's best friend. My pseudo-uncle.
He's always been my rock. The one I should never, ever want.
But I do want him, and I love him.
I always have.

Tor's one of the good guys. Loving. Devoted. A strong moral compass. One kiss between us rocked him clear off his axis. Now, we can't forget how that kiss felt, and what it changed. Nothing will ever be the same between us. I'm not a little girl anymore, and he's everything I want.

I know he's struggling, but I'm determined. With a last name of Valentine, I've got cupid in my veins. The heart wants what the heart wants, and it doesn't care about age or how we met. My father cares, though. And he's the one person neither one of us can stand to hurt.

We're all being torn apart, and I don't know how to make everyone see that the wrongs are actually right.

So as you can see I'm still on my Carian Cole bender. I simply cannot help myself. And I honestly don't want to! I'm in love with this world! Torn is book one in the All Torn Up series. It takes place alongside the Ashes & Embers series, and gives us another look at characters we have come to know and love. It takes place after Talon (A & E book 4), but before Loving Storm (A & E book 5).  I definitely advise you to read it prior to reading Asher.

Sidenote: I read Loving Storm after Talon, and although I loved it, I jumped right into Torn and was just inspired. Storm and Evie's stories should be read, too.

This book gives us the best introduction to Asher aside from his book obviously. So if you're reading in order, and not out of whack like me, you'll be thrilled to get to know Asher better. I still was! Asher... swoon!! Kenzi and Tor's story was such a beautiful journey.

Breathe Me by C.R. Jane & Ivy Fox - "You four are like the magnets in a compass. You might be pulling in your own different directions, but remain tied together at the very center..."

Breathe Me by C.R. Jane & Ivy Fox
Book Blurb:
They say that true love only comes once in a lifetime.
In my case, they were wrong.
I gave my heart away three times.
To the blue eyed sensitive soul, who read poetry when he thought no one was looking.
To the green eyed jock, who made you laugh as hard as he made you cry.
And to the dark eyed boy, whose dark heart only ever beat for me.

They were my everything, until suddenly they weren’t.
They asked me to choose, but they were asking the impossible.

Now it's my turn to ask for more than what they are willing to give.
I only have three months left, and I just want to spend it with them.
Will they accept my offer, or will four hearts live the remaining days of their lives in regret of what could have been?

The letters have been sent.
All that remains is for me to wait.
Wait to see if their hearts are still mine.
Because for as long as mine beats, it will always belong to them.

The book wrecked me in the best possible way. Valentina’s story has so many beautiful aspects. But it is sooo painful at the same time. C.R. Jane & Ivy Fox painted such vibrant pictures of the characters. Their struggles and emotions. The dialogue. The book contained all of the aspects that lead to a good story. I fell in love with Valentina and her men: Logan, Carter, and Quaid. And her dad, Mr. E. Valentina has the most beautiful relationship with her dad.

The best part of this story is it feels like a real life scenario. Real life is messy. Valentina battles with an illness and has been given an awful prognosis. She is struggling. Personally, I’ve seen what this disease does. It wreaks havoc on you and your loved ones. It is truly awful. I love that the authors weren’t afraid to delve into the nitty gritty and share this story. Life isn’t always wrapped up in a neat and tidy bow with a “The End” stamp on it.

I was immediately sucked into this reverse harem love story. At the beginning, we meet Valentina in the present after she has gotten horrible news regarding her prognosis. Valentina sends her men letters inviting them to meet up with her at a dream destination. She needs one final chance with them. She hasn't seen Logan, Carter, or Quaid in 10 years. Ten years since she left them all behind. Now, her time is running out.

This book jumps between the present and the past. This first part of the duet lays a lot of the foundation showing the build up of their friendship and the beginnings of the relationships. You see how deep the boys bond is. They are friends. You see them build a bond individually with Valentina, also. Valentina and Logan. Valentina and Quaid. Valentina and Carter. Each part creates a whole. Each piece of their puzzle is unique and completely necessary for completion. If one piece is missing they can't be whole. Breathe Me paints a picture of how and why everything fell apart. Why Valentina decided to leave them behind.

Valentina's father, throughout everything, has the best advice for his young daughter. He is very protective, but also not judgmental. Right away he realizes the four friends have a unique bond like no other. He recognizes how rare and precious it is. He wins the best father award for encouraging her to be true to herself and the love they share, but he also cautions Val to be mindful and careful of her actions.

In the present time, we see where Logan, Quaid, and Carter are and why they decide to meet up with Valentina. It's not exactly an easy decision for all of them to make. They all are angry with Val for leaving them. These characters are all a mess in their own way. They either need answers, closure, a second chance. They need something from this reunion. Like most people, they all have issues and struggles. Secrets they're keeping. The relationships are still very complicated, but some parts are easy. Valentina struggles with symptoms and tries to hide her illness from her men. As the days pass, that becomes harder for her to do. She wonders how long can she hide this from them?

Logan and Quaid seem to accept this second chance and seem to want to run with it. Carter is a lot more reserved. He is holding onto his anger as tight as possible. He loves Valentina so much and he struggles with the fact that she can't ever seem to just choose him. If she loves him why can't she choose him? Carter can't wrap his mind around the fact she loves them all equally.

Although, the story isn’t done, as this is a duet, I enjoyed how C.R. & Ivy ended the first part of this duet. At the end, there was some closure or resolution after a climactic event. But there’s more. What will happen next? How will Valentina's illness play out? Where will they go from here? Is there anywhere for them to even go? I was left on the edge of my seat! I can't wait for the continuation of their story in Breathe You. I'm very grateful to C.R. Jane and Ivy Fox for not torturing us too much. Breathe You is set to release of July 30, 2020. Only one month to wait.  Bravo, ladies!
