I went into Limitless blind. I didn't read Endless which is book 1 in the Less Than Zero Rockstar world. I feel like reading Endless would have definitely enhanced my reading experience because it's easy to see these books take place during the same timeline. However, I must say I still was able to thoroughly enjoy reading Limitless.
Limitless follows LTZ drummer Jace Devereaux and Alexandria LeRoux. The story begins in the present in the thick of some current drama. Then it jumps back almost nine years into the past to show everything that has lead up to the current situation. At first it completely threw me off, but as the book continued I appreciated why it was done.
Alex and Jace meet when she's eighteen and he's twenty-three. She and her best friend, Zoey, have made a pact to hook some rockers to lose their virginity to before their next phase of life. They attend a Less Than Zero show and set their sights on their favorite rockstars. Zoey seems to have more luck than Alex at first as Jace does his best to keep Alex firmly in the friendzone.
Alex has big plans to travel the world as a social media influencer after her high school graduation. Her plans don't include the complication of a new relationship. Jace is about to embark on the band's first world tour. Neither one is interested in anything serious. As time ticks away they're both ready to start this next step when Alex gives Jace an offer he can't refuse. Her first time was epic by the way. Totally a must read. SUPER HOT scene.
The years begin to pass. Jace and Alex manage to fly under their friends' radars and have flings across the world. They mostly succeed at maintaining their friendship, but their chemistry is so strong they can't help but want more. Unfortunately, their timing doesn't seem to be right.

Eventually, it seems as if their timing is finally right. Until a blast from the past threatens to blow their chance at happiness apart. Things begin to unravel. Kaylene Winters was able to effectively capture the character's emotions. I'm glad to say I was able to feel their pain.
Once Jace and Alex worked their way through this gigantic complication they finally got their happily ever after. These two worked so hard throughout the nine year time span of Limitless. Both of them had a lot to learn. A lot of growing to do. Alex was a strong female character who always knew what she wanted, and wasn't afraid to say it or show it. Finally, the epilogue contains a HUGE twist. Unexpected, but immensely satisfying ending. Ya'll go read this book!
