My sister has been recommending The Sainthood - Boys of Lowell High series for me to read for months now. I'm so glad I waited until it was complete to read it as a whole. And the added bonus of the novella at the end! The novella was the cherry on top. I used to think I wasn't crazy about dark romance or angst, but my sister has converted me. We joke that she's corrupted me. But I have to say I like it.

This boxset was epic. These characters are deeply involved with gangs. We meet Harlow right after her dad has died. She's struggling to handle her emotions and she decides to turn to her boyfriend, Darrow. That definitely doesn't go as planned considering she finds him in a compromising position. Darrow is the lead of the teen chapter of the gang The Arrows. After catching her boyfriend in the act she makes the decision to turn to the Saints, another rival gang, for help and in retaliation. Saint, Galen, Caz, and Theo. They come to her rescue, but at a high cost. One Harlow is very willing to pay. This book started off with a bang in more ways than one.

A few months later the boys show up at her new school. It seems she can't escape the Saints. Harlow quickly discovers the guys are more entrenched in her life than she could have ever imagined. A tale of mystery, violence, betrayal, sex, and secrets unfurls at a rapid pace. Siobhan kept me guessing throughout the whole book. I was thrilled to have all of the books at one time, because books one and two end on cliffhangers. I would have gone crazy!

The Sainthood showed Harlow's depth of love and caring as it slowly grows for each of the guys. Harlow has the innate ability to know and relate to all of her guys on a deeply personal level. Her relationship with each guy, excluding Caz, actually began years prior in some way or another. Harlow and Theo have HUGE history that is very carefully guarded until pretty deep into the book. I was thrilled with the secret they kept as it added a whole new dimension to the reverse harem relationship.

Of course, there's an ending to their story. And it was definitely a happy ending. I was pleasantly surprised with where the characters ended up. I would have never guessed where their journey would lead if I had been asked to predict the ending when I started. I love that!

Also, I was so grateful for the novella Siobhan wrote. This glimpse at the characters 12 years later was everything. I always wonder how these reverse harem relationships look years down the line. I refuse to spoil anything, but it made me squeal with joy to see Lo, Saint, Galen, Caz, and Theo all grown up. Their relationships have evolved throughout the years and they’ve developed some routines and habits that work for them. But at the same time, as with life, there are still legit everyday grown up problems and it’s refreshing to see that addressed. Happily ever after is still happily ever after even if there are some bumps in the road. I loved the characters throughout the whole series, but the novella wrapped them tighter into my heart. So much love for this.
