I was so excited to get my ARC copy of this book that I checked my email everyday until I received the notice that it was sent. I might’ve even done a happy dance once I was finally able to start reading it. I devoured this book so quickly because I just could not put it down.

Those Heartless Boys left off right after Cole and the Dragons (Heights Crew crossover for the win!) showed up with Lance Jacobs and chaos ensued (understatement of the year). This Heartless Girl didn’t pick up right where we left off like I expected it to, but actually started a few days later with the group reeling and trying to deal with what happened out in the desert that day. Much to everyone’s disappointment, there’s another player in the treasure hunt and this one means business. While Dakota, Wyatt, Lucas & Stone finally begin the treasure hunt, things also escalate with Dakota’s relationships with the guys.

So much happens in this book that I can’t go into because this is a spoiler free review, but prepare yourself! Emotions are high and things get crazy for a while. As you would expect in a series like this, it ends in a cliffhanger. As I got closer and closer to the end I could tell it was going to be a crazy one and I was not wrong! We’re teased with finally learning some very important information and just as were about to get it, the pesky “to be continued” comes. I don’t know about you, but I’m so ready for These Reckless Hearts and February can’t come any sooner!

The characters in this series are so real, their pain so poignant and the storyline is so unexpected. I was on the edge of my seat for most of the book. It felt like a constant adrenaline rush, each page I turned delivered more and more unexpected twists that I had no idea what to expect next. If you’re a fan of darker reverse harems, then you absolutely need to give this series a chance even if you don’t think you’ll like the treasure hunt aspect of the book. I personally loved this about the book and felt it added so much to the story.
