I was captivated by Rhys and Maggie. A.L.’s writing is so magnetic. There’s a poetic quality to her stories that just holds me spellbound. And Rhys! He has the biggest heart. He's always shown his love and happiness, but the true depth of his feelings are masked by his loud, boisterous, happy-go-lucky personality. A.L. somehow manages to make each hero better than the last, just when you think it's not possible.
I love the aspect of mystery weaved into A.L.'s books. There's a puzzle that needs to be pieced together in each book. It's so much fun trying to put the pieces together. In Beneath the Stars Rhys’s past is shrouded in secrets, and we learn Maggie is also hiding something. I was constantly wondering and trying to guess if I had figured out which way the story is going.
Just so you guys know I was wrong about most of my suspicions! So wrong! I love when I’m surprised by the storyline and actions of the characters. Beneath the Stars was one surprise after the next. An unexpected ending and climax. I loved this book so much.
Oh man did this book slay me and rebuild me. This gorgeous, tough, yet soft-hearted, tatted rocker is so broken. And yet he still loves hard. The beauty of the flashbacks at Rhys’ childhood brought tears to my eyes. These tears rolled down my face. Sad tears. Happy tears. All of the above. Rhys and Maggie's story managed to bring both types to my eyes. What a journey!
I anxiously await the day we get to see more of Carolina George and Sunder. A.L. dropped some news that we'll eventually get the books for the Bleeding Stars and Falling Stars series children in a future series called Shooting Stars. I'm in love already. I look forward to eventually reading Brendon’s book. Ooh! Or even a series with a Riot of Roses. Rockstar or not I’m excited to see what else she has in store for her readers.
