Review

Bea Paige surely knows how to pack a punch with her books and Breakers was no exception. Book 3 in the Academy of Stardom Series picks up a few hours after Lyrical left off. Thankfully, you find out the details about what happened during Pen’s performance pretty quickly. 

“With passion firing in our veins, with love pumping in our hearts, with courage in our lungs, strength in our bones and fight in our muscles, we rip up our history and shred the past with our steps.”

I was drawn into Breakers and couldn’t force myself to stop reading, despite wanting to read it as slowly as possible knowing that there would be a cliffhanger and I’d have to wait for Finale before the breakers got their HEA. This story was more violent than the last ones; you can feel the energy building for the grand finale. Despite the much needed violence, the story was focused on the emotional bond between the Breakers and what each person does for the group as a whole. As with the other books, dance takes center stage and Pen, Xeno, Dax, York & Zayn communicate best while letting their bodies do the talking. I was thrilled to finally see the 5 of them find their way back to each other and to start working together. And with working together comes steam, lots of steam! Those scenes were intense especially when you got to see just how comfortable the guys are with each other. 

While Breakers was a bit slower paced, it felt so action packed because of all the revelations. There were also several appearances and mentions of characters from other Bea Paige novels, which I love! I LIVE for more glimpses into Grim and Beast’s life and Breakers delivered.

I absolutely loved this story and cannot wait until Finale is available. With the way Breakers ended, I KNOW it’s going to be crazy!
