Blurb
An assassin.
A psychopath.
A complete mess.
I’ve been called all of those and worse.
Somebody once told me that one bad chapter doesn't mean your story is over.
Mine was just starting.
Painting me as the villain of the story and destroying everything I held dear was an easy task for them.
It was easy for him.
But the rules of the game have changed, and this time I was going to make them pay.
My name is Ophelia Aster, a girl they threw away, a girl they wanted to shatter.
They thought trapping me would set them free, but they didn’t know that the girl they used to know, didn’t exist anymore.
They threw me into the darkness, so darkness was what I became.

Review
I am wrecked. There are no words to describe the range of emotions I’m feeling after finishing Ricochet. I usually enjoy going into a book blind, and you most definitely have to go into Ricochet blind, but wow. I was not prepared for Ophelia Aster in any way, shape or form. I can’t decide if I want to continue crying, if I want to yell, throw my kindle at the wall or reach into the story and strangle a few people myself. All I know is that you need to prepare yourself because this book has almost ALL the triggers and is very dark.
I spent most of the book confused and wondering how it would end. I did feel like I was missing a lot of the backstory and I wish there was more detail. The further I got into the book, the more I suspected it would end in a cliffhanger and that there was no way Ricochet would end in a happily ever after. Not that anything about the blurb or teasers lead me to believe that would happen... That was purely my assumption. And you know what they say about assuming...
Ophelia drew me in immediately and I found myself rooting for her regardless of all the crazy and violent things she was forced into doing. I loved the nature vs. nurture points Phee brought to attention and how she believe psychopaths are born while killers are made. She struggles with the line between love and hate and I truly felt it. All the characters were so well written that I found myself rooting for one character one minute and another the next.
Ricochet was a great debut novel and I’m excited to see where Ophelia’s story goes in Equilibrium. If Ricochet was any indication, it’s going to a bloody ride!
If you’re not scared of a few (ok a lot) triggers, give Ricochet a read. You won’t be the same afterwards.

Author Bio
LK is an author of Dark Romance books, who hates slow walkers and people being mean for no reason. She is still figuring out this whole 'adult' thing, and thinks that Halloween should be a Public Holiday.
Leila has a small obsession with Greek Mythology, and during her High School years, she wanted to be an archaeologist - that obviously didn't work out. If she isn't writing, she can be found reading, watching horror movies or dancing.
