Beautiful Sinner by Sara Cate - “Our love is not a sin; it’s salvation.”

Book Blurb:
A beautiful, young American girl wound up stranded far from home on my doorstep.

When she begged me to stay, I did what a good priest would do, and I said yes.

But a good priest wouldn’t spend his days thinking about the fullness of her ruby red lips or feel the sting of envy with the way she draws men to her like flies to honey.

A good priest would have stopped things before that first touch. And he certainly wouldn’t have given into temptation so easily, but when Cadence Thorn walked in, she brought me to my knees.

A good priest takes his vows seriously. But I am not a good priest.

Lord, help me...

I was fortunate enough to get an ARC copy of this book thanks to being a part of TalkNerdyPR bloggers list. Reading the blurb left me extremely intrigued. I wasn’t sure what direction the book would take, but I was pleasantly surprised with the outcome.

Hear No Evil by Ivy Fox - "Since the first day I saw you, I have loved you, and only you."

Book Blurb

Evil cannot take hold of an unconsenting soul.
Do not be amazed that hell is empty, since all the devils live here.
One by one, they will meet their hellish fate.
One down…
Three to go.

Easton
A tyrannous society has discovered our most atrocious secret and decided to wage war on us.
They’ve had their fun with Finn, and now it’s my turn to be their little puppet.
Someone should have warned them that I don’t play well with others.
If they think I’m going to bend over and let them screw with my life sans lube, they are sorely mistaken.
I’m no man’s pawn.
At least that’s what I told myself right up to the day I received a little black envelope that mercilessly sealed my fate—they’ve gone after the one person I would sacrifice anything for.

My friends.
Myself.
Even her.

Scarlett
They call him the dark prince of Asheville, a silvered eyed rebel without just cause for his defiance.
But to me, Easton Price is so much more than the mischievous persona he openly flaunts.
He’s the beautiful nightmare I desperately try to resist with clenched teeth and scarred heart.
As the pastor’s niece, I’m considered the epitome of good, while he’s the embodiment of sin.
There’s just one thing wrong with that assumption—I’m not that good.
And Easton is going out of his way to prove it.

*The Society is an Enemies to Lovers, New Adult College Romance.
*Each book may be read as a standalone. However, all four books in this series have an entwined subplot, which will only be resolved in the final book. Therefore it is highly recommended that this series be read in its entirety for full enjoyment.
*Recommended 18+ due to mature language and situations.

Hear No Evil by Ivy Fox

I devoured Hear No Evil. I couldn't wait to uncover each new piece of the puzzle in this series. I didn't think it was possible, but I loved Easton and Scarlett more than Finn and Stone. I have a feeling it will be that way with each of The Society books. I am so excited to eventually get Colt and Lincoln's stories.  I have a feeling they'll be mind-blowing based on what I experienced reading Hear No Evil.

First and Forever is the second book in the Heartache Duet, and must be read after Heartache and Hope.

There are no more goodnight kisses.

Blurb:

I’m having an out-of-body experience. At least...I think. Isn’t that what it’s called when your spirit abandons you to watch—from a safe distance, with the appropriate amount of judgement—while you make questionable decisions?

Yup, one of those.

I want to shout, “STOP, ELLIE, DON’T DO IT!” But spirit me doesn’t have a voice. So I watch as she...I...we? makes a sex contract with her...our...new boss.

This is a good time to mention the 45-minute HR meeting we sat through last month expressly forbidding this sort of thing.

In our defense, Max is ridiculously hot, and I...we may have accidentally quit.

With a sigh, I look down at the bodies pressed against the wall of the executive office.

Yup, we’re totally screwed.

I’ve been eyeing Pretty Little Mess for a while now, and I’ve had it on my never-ending TBR. I was lucky enough to get the opportunity to get an ALC of the audiobook. This book was full of humor, heat, and heart. Preston Maxwell Anderson III, Max, AKA P3, is a privileged rich boy. Ellie Chase lives paycheck to paycheck. These two are complete opposites. Their chemistry was instant, regardless.

Max is the type of guy I don’t think I would like in person. Probably not at all, but as a reader (or listener in this case) I was able to hear and see what was in his head. He’s a total alphahole on the surface. He definitely is spoiled and used to getting his way, but he also has a smooshy, caring center. Max is the type of guy you have to get to know to see who he really is.

Ellie is a hard worker who is busting her butt to make enough money to pay for the apartment she shares with her twin sister. She’s a creative type who makes clothes, and has goals of entering the fashion world. Her friend offers her a job opportunity she can’t pass up as it will definitely help pay the bills. Anderson Capital. Run by Max's dad, Preston Maxwell Anderson II or P2.

Ellie and Max meet on Ellie’s first day. She’s a bit disheveled, and unfortunately stinky after an incident on her commute to work. That doesn’t stop Max from being instantly attracted to her. He’s abrasive, brash, and rude, but so gorgeous Ellie is annoyed to find she still wants him.

Company policy dictates they ignore their attraction. And they succeed. For a while. After Ellie accidentally quits their chemistry boils over. There’s a lot going on at Anderson Capital, and with Max’s family. Ellie and Max secretly grow closer. A scandal rocks Anderson Capital. Will the company survive this bomb? During the media windstorm, a new scandal threatens everything Max and Ellie are fighting so hard for. Will their bond be strong enough to make it through?

I enjoyed Pretty Little Mess so much. There are so many laugh out loud moments. Max is an alpahole in every sense, but Ellie holds her own against him. They banter. They love. When Max falls it’s beautiful to see. He’s still the same Max, but he does show love. It softens him up, but not so much that he’s no longer Max. Max and Ellie find a way to set their world to rights. I wanted to cheer for them. Teamwork makes the dream work and all that jazz. I’d have to say the epilogue was one of my favorite parts.

The narrators did a great job of voicing the characters and more importantly expressing the emotions taking place in the scenes. Their voices gave so much life to Max and Ellie. Pretty Little Mess was highly entertaining. Grab your copy of Pretty Little Mess now.

Lyrical by Bea Paige - “ I need to set my pain free and the only way I’m going to be able to do that is by sharing the truth.”

Title: Lyrical (Academy of Stardom Book 2)

Author: Bea Paige

Release Date: September 23rd

Genre:  Reverse Harem, Dance Academy, Enemies to Lovers.

Cover Designer: Everly Yours Cover Design

Book Blurb:

Dance is in my blood.

Once upon a time it ran through their veins too. Xeno, York, Zayn, and Dax.

The Breakers and I were a crew until bad decisions and circumstance ripped us apart.

Now the Breakers are back.

And they’ve brought trouble.

They’re not here at the Stardom Academy to dance.

They’re here on a mission for Jeb, the leader of the Skins.

He wants something, and me…? I’m just a pawn in their game.

To make matters worse, my psychotic brother wants something too.

I must befriend the Breakers and find out what they’re up to.

If I refuse, my brother will hurt the one person I love more than life itself.

I cannot allow that to happen.

Dance was always the cure to our pain, the foundations of our friendship and love.

It brought us together once before.

Can I go through the cycle of friendship, love, and heartache all over again?

Will I survive the Breakers a second time? Will they survive me?

**Lyrical is book two of this new gritty, contemporary reverse harem academy trilogy for 17+ readers and deals with adult themes and some subjects you may find upsetting. If you love dance, your men on the criminal side, alpha hot holes, and the friends-to-enemies-to-lovers trope, this is for you.

Lyrical picks up right where Freestyle left off, with the bonus of gaining the POVs of Zayn, Xeno, Dax & York. Three years of lying is breaking Pen down, eating away at her. “Some days I’m strong, I’m fierce, and others I’m on the verge of breaking, my edges fraying. I can feel myself unraveling. This back-and-forth, this push and pull, the ups and downs, acting strong but feeling weak, it’s taking it’s toll.” Having the Breakers back in her life and Jeb finally cashing in on her debt is taxing Pen in ways she didn’t expect. Being in close proximity to them all is bringing all of her emotions to a head. She feels even more alone than she did when they were separated because of the hate and animosity they look at her with.

Freestyle by Bea Paige - “You see it all boils down to one night, one decision, and one devastating consequence that separates who we were to what we are now.”

Book Blurb:

From the gutter to the stars...

Dance is in my blood.
It’s what keeps me sane, out of trouble. It used to keep them out of trouble too.
A group of boys I grew up with.
Xeno, York, Zayn and Dax.
We were a crew once and we ruled the clubs.
Separate we were insanely good, together we were unbeatable. F*&ing on fire.
I was their girl and they were my Breakers.
Until they did something they promised they never would; break my heart.
We were seventeen when they left me.
You see, for kids like us, dance was all we had.
Growing up in a rundown housing estate in London with no prospects can make you view the world differently.
It can make you choose the wrong path.
I chose dance, and they chose crime.
Three years later I’ve won a scholarship to Stardom Academy. I try to forget my past.
But how can I do that when the four boys who hurt me are back?
And this time they’re following in my footsteps and joining the academy too.

**
Freestyle is book one of this new gritty, contemporary reverse harem academy trilogy for 17+ readers and deals with adult themes and some subjects you may find upsetting. If you love dance, your men on the criminal side, alpha hot holes and the friends-to-enemies-to-lovers trope, this is for you. Contains foul language and sexual scenes and ends on a cliffhanger.**

Bea Paige isn’t a new author to me, I’ve read her Academy of Misfits series and really enjoyed it. So when the opportunity to receive ARCs of Freestyle & Lyrical came up, I jumped at the opportunity and said screw my aversion to cliffhangers. I’m so happy I did!

would have known he’d sold his soul and this debt is something he cannot repay.

Letting her go is impossible, but will loving her cost it all?

A sensuous, captivating contemporary stand-alone romance in the Falling Stars series from NYT
& USA Today Bestselling Author, A.L. Jackson . . .

The Falling Stars Series by A.L. Jackson continues with Richard’s story. After reading Kiss the Stars & Catch Me When I Fall, I’ve been anticipating this book for months now. There’s so much mystery surrounding Richard Ramsey and the trouble he inadvertently found himself in. We don't quite know what it is, but we know it's bad, and that it was more of a wrong place, wrong time thing. I started this book needing the rest of the puzzle pieces to fall into place.

Falling Into You sucked me in immediately. A.L. Jackson creates such beautiful pictures with her descriptions of both the setting and the character's emotions. The imagery is so vivid. There’s so much more going on in Richard’s life than I realized or even expected. As old questions were answered new ones are formed. It was both frustrating, but awesome in its unpredictable nature. I was 100% invested and interested in every page.

Richard is broken by what he did. What he felt he had to do. Violet Marin is the woman from his past. The one he let go. She's a woman holding on with all her might. She has some things going on in own her life, and in her past, that she’s struggling with. Lots of emotions. Richard broke her trust years ago. Now he’s back. Can she trust him again? He still has so many secrets she can see swirling and shrouding him. But his heart just continues to shine through. Although there’s hurt, pain, regret, and sorrow there was so much beauty in Richard and Violet’s story. So much wisdom. I found myself battling tears a few times. “Listen with your heart.” Man I hope and pray I can live by these wise words.

In Catch Me When I Fall we learned there’s some shady business Richard was caught up in. Emily, his sister, tried her best to protect him and ended up brutalized. This shady business has reached a turning point. Richard is working overtime to bring down the bad guys and protect those he loves. This causes push and pull between Violet and Richard until finally their chemistry reaches an inferno.

Violet knows Richard is keeping secrets, but has no idea the destruction his secrets have caused and could cause. When the truth came out I was floored. Completely flabbergasted. I thought I knew where the story was going. I had suspicions, but they were wrong! I am thrilled A.L. kept me guessing.

Richard and Violet get the happily-ever-after, but it’s definitely not a smooth journey. My heart was in my throat for the last 15% of the book. A.L. hit me with a climax of epic proportions. I was wondering, “Wait! What is happening?! OMG!” This is a must read!

Falling Into You brings us more of the characters we've grown to love. We got to see more of Royce and Emily. Mel, Maggie, and Rhys. Rhys Rhys Rhys. Am I ever ready for his story now?! This big, charming, funny, loyal guy. These Falling Stars characters are weaving themselves forever into my heart. The Bleeding Stars characters also make an appearance. I will be reading that series soon!

Hurt Me by C.G. Blaine - "The not-my-type Beck who ended up being the all-my-heart Beck."

Hurt Me by C.G. Blaine

Book Blurb:

After Eden Monroe’s ex dumps her, she decides not to cancel the romantic getaway they booked, wanting to waste his money like he wasted two years of her life. She never expects to go, but when he gets engaged to someone else, she packs her bags and boards the plane in need of an escape.

Except she’s not the only one.

Becker Donovan needs to lie low for a while. The farther away from his life, the better. So, after catching wind of an abandoned week at a luxury resort in paradise, he decides to claim it as his own. All he has to do is convince everyone he’s a rich douche for a few days. Easy enough.

Until the princess from the airport shows up to find out he conned his way into her hotel suite.

He should leave, but then Eden’s brother offers him a reason to stay.

Five days. Ten thousand dollars. All Beck has to do is keep the guys away from Eden.

Only when she needs him to play boyfriend, the guy who ends up with his hands all over her is him. It’s all pretend between them until it’s not. They fall hard and fast—completely.

But the problem with finding each other when taking a break from the real world is they eventually have to return to it. And once reality crashes back in, Eden and Beck realize they don’t exactly live in the same one. Not even close.

Hurt Me was my first book by C.G. Blaine and WOW! What a great story. Eden Monroe takes off on a previously planned trip after learning her ex is now engaged. It was set to be a romantic getaway for two when their relationship suddenly fell apart. Becker Donovan needs to lay low due to some circumstances at home. His cousin tells him to take this unclaimed trip and hide out for a while. Little did his cousin know, Eden took the trip on her own. Eden and Beck cross paths a few times before ultimately coming face to face at the resort.

Eden's brother offers Beck ten thousand dollars to stay with Eden and make sure guys stay away from her. Of course, Eden feels some type of way about this. These two are polar opposites. Their interactions and banter were so much fun to read. Life at the resort is a bit complicated for these two as they clash constantly. In their clashes, you can see heat beginning to build. As the blurb says: once they fall, they fall hard and fast. Their chemistry was fiery, and explosive.

Eventually, their time at the resort comes to an end. I kept wondering what would happen when Eden and Beck returned home. I wanted to know where their story went. I was very impressed with how the storyline progressed. Eden and Beck must figure out how they fit in each other's lives, and what that means going forward. Eden comes from an influential family, and has money. Beck is a mechanic from the other side of town, and works hard for every penny he has.

One thing I truly enjoyed, was this story didn't follow a predictable path. Each new aspect of their story kept me entertained, and drew me in deeper. I was wholeheartedly invested in Eden and Beck. I wanted their happily-ever-after so bad. Another 5 star read added to my READ shelf. Also, I'm a sucker for cover models who match the characters. And Beck matches the cover. Enough said. Kiersten won’t make excuses for living her very best life. But being the life of the party has its downsides—like waking up naked next to her best friend.

She’s pregnant with his baby.
She shoves him back in the friend zone. But there’s no return to normal when he’s already falling in love with her.

Kiersten wants to play it safe, but Nathan is ready for risks. The problem is relationships can go south fast.
And they might learn the truth about what’s worse than getting knocked up by your best friend.
Losing them forever.

When Morning Comes by A.M. Wilson

I received an ARC of When Morning Comes and am freely offering my unbiased opinion. This is my first book by A.M. Wilson. She is a master at injecting feeling into her words. She created such a painfully beautiful story. Heart wrenching writing. I felt like the scenes were happening to me personally. Kiersten and Nathan's emotions rippled through my whole body. Tears were wrenched from my eyes. I started this book late at night and got sucked into this world so deep. Next thing I knew it was tomorrow and I was just about 70% in. Just one more chapter.....

COVER REVEAL! To Burn In Brutal Rapture by Nyla K

To Burn In Brutal Rapture by Nyla K
Cover design:  Jada D'Lee Designs

Model: Mario Hervas

From the author of PUSH comes a new epic tale of unexpected forbidden romance…

The ache of tragedy sunk deep, like the claws of a wicked monster.

To heal was to remember what my godfather told me when I was six…

Pain is a part of life. If you prepare for it, it will hurt less.

He would know, after all. Lazarus Weston is pain personified.

The scowling man with stormy eyes and tattoos covering his excessive muscles is not only my godfather, but also my dad’s business partner and best friend. A permanent fixture in our lives. Well, in Dad’s, not mine.

But when grief mixes with confusing new feelings, I’m forced to see Lazarus differently, in a way that severely complicates my world.

Because he’s too old for me. He’ll never be mine.

I’m not allowed to have him, but obsession burns a fine line between can’t and won’t

I can’t want her…

The curse on my heart is heavy, the tale of my malediction drenched in brutal loss. Wearing ink like scars reminds me of the tomb I left behind.

I’ve been expecting pain all my life, yet I’m still unprepared, failing to see my downfall until she’s wrapped around my soul like barbed wire.

Tracien Wright. My best friend’s daughter. Part of my life strictly through association. She was never meant to be more than that.

But Traci is a trickster. A skilled predator in the most unexpected package, oblivious to her own power.

She’ll learn the hard way that not all beasts should be hunted.

I’m not what she thinks I am, having rose from a pit, only to bury myself in secrets and lies.

Deep down I’d love nothing more than to have her. But I don’t get to keep nice things.

To Burn In Brutal Rapture by Nyla K

Playing with Fire by L.J. Shen - “ I was a phoenix, slicing the air, flying farther away from the ashes that had buried me for years.”

Playing with Fire by LJ Shen

“Clear off a top spot on your Best of 2020 list.

Playing with Fire is coming in HOT!”

--Harloe Rae, USA Today bestselling author

Playing With Fire, an all-new intense and all consuming small town standalone romance from USA Today bestselling author L.J. Shen is available now!

Book Blurb:

A broken boy on the path to destruction.

A scarred girl without direction.

A love story carved in secrets, inked with pain and sealed with a lie.

Grace Shaw and West St. Claire are arctic opposites.

She is the strange girl from the food truck.

He is the mysterious underground fighter who stormed into her sleepy Texan college town on his motorcycle one day, and has been wreaking havoc since.

She is invisible to the world.

He is the town’s beloved bad boy.

She is a reject.

He is trouble.

When West thrusts himself into Grace’s quiet life, she scrambles to figure out if he is her happily-ever-after or tragic ending.

But the harder she pushes him away, the more he pulls her out of her shell.

Grace doesn’t know much about anything beyond her town’s limits, but she does know this:

She is falling in love with the hottest guy in Sheridan U.

And when you play with fire—you ought to get burned.

If you follow LJ Shen on social media you’ll have heard talk of this book for a while, but it’s been shrouded in mystery. Once the cover and blurb were revealed, I knew that this story would be great. I’m a huge fan of all her other books, but this one is my favorite. By far. It has the same feel as her other books, but it felt more real because the characters were flawed and more relatable due to their status (or lack thereof). I was over the moon when I found out I would be getting an ARC.

Heartache and Hope by Jay McLean - "When the world is at its darkest, that's when the magic appears."

Heartache and Hope by Jay McLean

Book Blurb:

Ava Diaz needs saving.
She just doesn’t know it yet.
Just like she doesn’t know a thing about the boy she sits next to on the first day of senior year.
He thinks she’s a brat.
She thinks he’s entitled.
Maybe first impressions don’t always last…
Because Connor Ledger’s about to save her.
He just doesn’t know why.

Heartache and Hope is mature young-adult Sports Romance, 80k full-length novel and is the first book in the Heartache Duet

This was my first book by Jay McClean and I thoroughly enjoyed this experience. The first part of The Heartache Duet sucked me right into the story. Ava’s introduction was heart wrenching, and yet, as the story goes on it became more heart wrenching. I didn’t think it was possible, but each detail of her life, and what happened to her mom made me want to hug Ava. Prior to the incident with her mom she was a regular teenage girl. Now her focus is solely on her family. That’s definitely not typical for a seventeen year old girl.

Book Blurb:

It was a debt to be settled, a price to be repaid.

Sold. My body, mind and soul, are given to the most terrifying man I’ve ever met.

Enzo King.

Violent, commanding, gorgeous, and sinister.

He’s a killer, a thief, and feared by many.

He has the ability to pin me to the ground with one single look and make me feel things I don’t want to.

Feeding off my fears, he holds me captive in his mansion away from the rest of the world.

I know what’s to come.

He’ll break me.

Take from me.

Own me.

Soon enough my life will no longer be my own, but his.

Every part of my body, every breath I take, and every beat of my heart will belong to him.

He’s determined to settle the debt by taking everything from me, what he doesn’t know is that he’ll never have my soul, or my love.

Amara finds herself being taken as payment for her father’s debt to Lorenzo King. Enzo, as he is known by friends and family, is in a dark place and has made it his life’s mission to avenge his mother. He has no qualms about killing anyone who dares to lie, cheat or steal from him. If he shows any weakness, his throne will be at risk. Because of his past, I felt like he took it easy on Amara. I was expecting her to have to physically work off her dad’s debt prior to a relationship developing between them. They did have huge amounts of chemistry and the tension was palpable.
